Welcome back to Term 4!

Can you believe it? We are already half way through your first year in school.

The children have returned to school extremely excited and enthusiastic about our new topic. We have already begun discussions and planning for our 'Pirate Day' coming up on Tuesday 28th February.

We have already planned our Talk for Writing books for this term, if you want to read these with in advance then I have provided a list for you below.

Week 1- Pirate Adventure- Oxford Reading Tree

Week 2- Pirates Love Underpants

Week 3- The Singing Mermaid

Week 4- Rainbow Fish

Week 5- Shark in the Park

Week 6- A Fish With a Wish

We returned to school with some sad news......Poppy our class bear has been taken by pirates!! We are busy writing letters to help her find her way back. Don't worry- I'm sure Poppy will return very very soon. The children are keen to help her find her way back to school so that she can spend the weekend with one of you.

On Tuesday 28th March we enjoyed our Pirates Day. We all dressed up as Pirates or Mermaids. We enjoyed a special visit from Captain Rocky Cliff. In the afternoon we enjoyed a pirate party and some delicious pirate food. Our best costume award went to Lydia who's outfit was creative and home made. She looked lovely as 'Lydia the Rainbow Mermaid'.

We were lucky enough to receive a visit from the Kent Fire Service. We learnt lots of interesting facts and information about fire safety. We also found out how to keep safe and who to call in an emergency. Some of us even got to try on a fire-fighters helmet.
