At Shears Green we are very lucky to have an outdoor space where we follow the ethos and principles of Forest School. Our reception children have daily access to our woodland area where they can explore, create, investigate and instigate curiosity of the natural world around them. We have a particular focus each week, however, the children can choose to explore that or they can choose their own learning with the support of our experienced teachers. Over time the children are encouraged to become independent learners who can manage and understand risk safely. KS1 will have regular sessions to our woodland area from term 3 where we will be building skills of resilience, team work, creativity and connecting with the natural world.
